The FlyByNight domain began as FlyByNightPublishing.com in the 1980’s. It was created as a website to support individuals and non-profits trying to navigate the relatively new internet technologies. The site also was to enhance my own communication for my side-business FlyByNightPublishing.com.
Initially, the site used an elaborate menu system of colored pencils that would highlight when your cursor rolled over and then change color when you landed on the chosen page. Great fun and hours of work. I learned a lot about webpages in those years. Carl Carbone is the graphic artist who created the whimsical logo that I have used all these years.
In time, the domain register began to charge more for .com domains and the name FlyByNightPublishing.com was excessively long. So I migrated much of the site over to this WIX site with the new domain name being FlyByNight.us. Let me say, WIX is a dream compared to my previous domain provider. It has saved me hundreds of hours producing and manipulating graphics in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. It is also reasonably priced. I can afford to publish websites on WIX. Technically, setting up the domain settings (DNS) was also a night and day difference. I can’t believe how easy it was to get this site going.
Now that I am spending most of my time writing instead of maintaining my websites, I’ve simplified what I’m posting. WIX has been a marvelous tool for my communication purposes.
